Product Description
1. Product Overview
The AMI engineered modular induction motors deliver high reliability and availability for the harshest and most demanding working conditions. Custom‑built to satisfy individual customer and application requirements, these motors are developed on the industry’s proven modular platform. They can meet a wide range of demanding operating conditions and support highly‑specific customized configurations, complying with relevant international standards.
They support both direct‑on‑line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation. Constructed with welded steel frames, the standard combinations of cooling modes and protection classes include IC01 / IP24W, IC611 / IP55 and IC81W / IP55. Standard shaft heights range from 400 mm to 630 mm. Both horizontal and vertical mounting are available.
This catalogue lists technical data under 50 Hz only; nevertheless, the motors run at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous speeds ranging from 500 rpm to 3600 rpm. The power coverage in this catalogue reaches up to 8000 kW, while the full product range can go up to 23000 kW.
2. Mounting Arrangements
Below are standard mounting types for AMI motors. Other mounting forms are available upon request.
- IM B3 (IM 1001): Horizontal foot‑mounted
- IM V1 (IM 4011): Vertical flange‑mounted (free shaft end pointing downwards)
3. Enclosure and Cooling
IC01 / IP24
This weather‑proof motor adopts a shaft‑driven internal cooling fan. Its structural design minimizes ingress of rain, snow and airborne particles into electrical components. Air inlet velocity is controlled below 3 m/s to allow heavy particles to settle. Three sharp turns over 90° inside the air intake further optimize airflow. The motor is protected against water splashes from all directions.
IC611 / IP55
This fully‑enclosed motor is equipped with an air‑to‑air heat exchanger. Shaft‑mounted fans are installed inside and outside the housing for internal and external cooling circuits respectively. It provides protection against dust and omnidirectional water splashes.
IC81W / IP55
A fully‑enclosed unit fitted with an air‑to‑water heat exchanger. An internal shaft‑driven fan serves the inner cooling circuit. It offers protection against dust and water splashes from all directions.
IC31 / IP55
Equipped with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air supply. This variant is based on the AMI motor frame without top cover. It is protected against dust and omnidirectional splashing water.
Note: IC01 features asymmetric internal air circulation.
4. Packaging
Export‑oriented standard seaworthy packing: plywood case or fumigated wooden case, suitable for long‑distance sea and land transportation.
5. Warranty
