Product Description

Modular Induction Motors – Type AMI

AMI engineered modular induction motors are designed for high reliability and availability in tough and demanding industrial environments. Built on a proven modular platform, these motors can be tailored to meet specific customer needs and application requirements while maintaining strong adaptability for specialized configurations.

The motors are suitable for both direct-on-line (DOL) and variable speed drive (VSD) operation and comply with relevant international standards. The AMI series features a welded steel frame and is available with several standard cooling and protection options, including IC01/IP24W, IC611/IP55, and IC81W/IP55. Standard shaft heights range from 400 mm to 630 mm, and the motors can be mounted horizontally or vertically.

Although catalog data may be shown at 50 Hz, these motors are suitable for operation at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with synchronous speeds from 500 to 3,600 rpm. Output powers covered in the catalog reach up to 8,000 kW, while the complete range extends up to 23,000 kW.

Mounting Arrangements

• IM B3 / IM 1001: Horizontal foot-mounted arrangement.
• IM V1 / IM 4011: Vertical flange-mounted arrangement, with the free shaft end facing downwards.
• Other mounting arrangements are available on request.

Enclosure and Cooling

IC01 / IP24W
This weather-protected motor uses a shaft-mounted cooling fan inside the housing. The air intake design helps reduce the ingress of rain, snow, and airborne particles into the electrical parts. The motor is protected against splashing water from any direction.

IC611 / IP55
This fully enclosed design uses an air-to-air heat exchanger mounted on the motor. Shaft-mounted fans serve both the internal and external cooling circuits. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.

IC81W / IP55
This fully enclosed motor is equipped with an air-to-water heat exchanger. A shaft-mounted fan inside the casing supplies the internal cooling circuit. The motor is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.

IC31 / IP55
This version is fitted with inlet and outlet pipes for remote cooling air. It is essentially an AMI motor frame without an upper cover and is protected against dust and splashing water from any direction.

Packaging

Standard seaworthy export packaging is provided, using plywood cases or fumigated wooden packages. The packaging is suitable for long-distance transportation by sea or land.

Warranty

Standard warranty: 12 months after commissioning, or 18 months after delivery, whichever occurs first. Extended warranty options are available upon request.
