This 18.5KW three-phase induction motor is a high-performance heavy-duty drive unit, featuring a 2-pole configuration and a rated speed of 2800 RPM—closely approaching the 3000 RPM synchronous speed under 50Hz three-phase alternating current (AC) power supply. Its core operation adheres to the principle of electromagnetic induction: when three-phase AC is supplied to the stator windings, a high-speed uniform rotating magnetic field (RMF) is generated, which cuts the rotor conductors to induce electromotive force (EMF) and eddy currents. The interaction between these induced currents and the RMF produces robust electromagnetic torque, driving the rotor to rotate asynchronously with a low slip ratio (3%-5% at rated load), ensuring stable high-speed power transmission for heavy-duty equipment.
Structurally engineered for high-speed heavy-duty operations, the motor adopts a reinforced cast-iron frame with IP55 protection class, providing superior mechanical rigidity, dustproof, and waterproof performance to withstand harsh industrial environments such as heavy-duty workshops, high-speed machining facilities, and high-humidity sites. The stator is equipped with high-purity oxygen-free copper windings encapsulated in Class F insulation material, boasting a thermal endurance temperature of 155℃, which minimizes copper loss and prevents insulation breakdown under long-term high-speed, high-load conditions. The 2-pole rotor features a die-cast aluminum squirrel-cage structure with enhanced mechanical strength and low rotational inertia, paired with precision sealed deep-groove ball bearings lubricated by high-temperature lithium-based grease to reduce frictional loss and ensure smooth high-speed long-term operation.
Key performance parameters are calibrated for heavy-duty high-speed applicability: rated voltage 380V (50Hz), rated current approximately 36.2A, and a rated power factor of ≥0.88. It delivers a starting torque of 1.8 times the rated torque for reliable startup under heavy loads, with a maximum torque of 2.2 times the rated torque to cope with occasional load fluctuations. Compliant with IE3 high-efficiency standards, it minimizes energy consumption, with noise emission controlled at ≤80dB at 1m. Widely used in high-speed heavy-duty machinery, large-scale air compressors, and centrifugal pumps, it supports both horizontal and vertical mounting.
